I can type about 75-85 wpm, am able to listen and type things very well. Think I would be great as one of those people that write captions, subtitles for tv. No idea how to get started though. What is required? And whats the pay like? How do I go about becoming a closed caption writer?
i dunno ....but you cant do worse than the tools that do it now ...seriously i watch things with captions on [when tv down low to not wake kids-sad huh] ....and half the time they get words wrong ,or type gibberish ...poor deaf people who rely on those words get false lines .....[ie.. instead of ';hi chuck i love sausages'; they may type ...';no luck roasting sausages';...sounds daft i know ,but trying to make example ...or they type mjmibjiafnb randomly]
contact seven ,ten ,etc....and ask them how you get in touch with their closed captions people
