How can I add a caption directly onto a picture that I took with a digital camera?

when adding caption directly on the picture it is best to do it with the use of computer, or with the use of photoshop CS2 program. With that program you can change the opacity of text as if it were really included in the picture. Or else you could simply edit it using microsoft photo editor and just place text on your pictures. How can I add a caption directly onto a picture that I took with a digital camera?

If your camera doesn't have an option to add text to the photo as it's being shot, you will have to rely on photo editing software to add the text when you touch up the picture.

Some people say Photoshop庐 is the ';gold standard'; of photo editing software --- and they may be right --- but I find that even the free ones that come with certain photo developing services will do an adequate job for simple things like adding text.
Want something easy and free? Open up your photo in Microsoft Paint. It's in your computer under Start/Programs/Accessories.

After you've opened up your image file, select the area you want the caption to be. Then, from the toolbox, choose text.

If you go to View and make the Text Toolbox visible, you can select size, font, and color. Type in your message/caption. You can change font size and color as you wish. Be sure you click on the icon on the left side that makes the text box translucent (see through).

Save As your image under a new, revised name so your original remains for future use. Be sure to save it as a JPG image.

Voila! Instant, free captions!

I hope that's helpful for you.
